:: The Bachelor - Week 5 ::

:: The remaining 5 at the start of the show after just arriving in Seattle ::

:: What a great week...but it felt like it was a bit of filler to me, it seems like a really long process for him to eliminate the girls that I already know are not the best for him! Ha Ha! Well, it is good that he is SO thoughtful about his choices, it makes the girls know that he's not just in it for the ahem! ::
-
:: I love that he is not afraid to single individual girls out and ask them questions about their expectations and thoughts on being in a relationship with him...he seems so real that way! ::

:: Okay so on to what happened this week. Well the girls {& Jason of course} packed their bags and headed to the beautiful city of Seattle, in the Fall non the less - how amazing are those trees, mountains and water! Oh, what a treat! ::

:: Right, back to the recap. So the girls get put up in a super classy hotel and get to enjoy the benefits of being in Jason's home town. Off the bat, Melissa gets the first one on one date night with Jason, oy vey was Naomi jealous {she has yet to have a one on one date with Jason}! ::

:: Melissa & Jason were supposed to be going out on the town in a oohh la la car and all the works, that ended up getting a wrench in it as Ty {Jason's Son} didn't want daddy to go out. So Jason invited Melissa over and they had a date night in. Melissa was so cool about it and asked if she could wear her stretchy pants to the date instead of her dress, they ended up to be stretchy short-shorts - but who cares!?!?! To say the least they had a great date and Melissa was the envy of all the other girls as she would probably get to meet Ty. She didn't. Jason wasn't ready for that. He did however let her sneak a peek at Ty sleeping - it was all very sweet ::

:: Next up was the group date that included these three :::: They went on a boat cruise through the harbour and enjoyed the sights of Seattle's skyline. Jason singled Stephanie out and took her up to the captains quarters to steer the boat. They reminisced about their last one on one date and about Sophia {Stephanie's daughter}. They didn't kiss..or did they, no I don't think they did. They had a good talk and it made me hope that maybe there was hope for Stephanie, but from the start of this episode I didn't think she would last ::

:: After the boat cruise they head to kiss.fm recording studios so they can be interviewed live on air. Jason got put through the ringer but held up well and even aced a blindfolded kissing test on all the girls! ::

:: In the interview Jason said that his favorite date was with Stephanie {obviously this guy is full of heart} and the best kisser was Molly {ugh} ::

:: So the group date ended well however...he was feeling a little unsettled about his relationship with Jillian...life went on and he went on another one on one date, this time with Naomi ::

:: Things went great on his date with Naomi, obviously he finds her attractive or else she wouldn't still be here. They went up in a helicopter then proceeded to a rock climbing wall were they had a little date at the top of the rock wall. Then they ended their date with fondue in front of a fire. It was romantic but there didn't seem {to me} to be sparks other then the ones coming from the fire. Apparently he felt differently, he kissed the girl {ugh} ::

:: Then the morning of the rose ceremony Jason arrives at the girls suite {unannounced} and asks to take Jillian out for coffee. He asks of her intentions and wants to know whats up with her as she's been the rock to all the girls and he's not sure if he's seeing the "real" Jillian. She needs to up her game, but as discussed earlier in the show {on the group date}, Jillian didn't realize that she may actually end up having feelings with Jason, so they have caught her off guard. I {and hopefully he} still think she's a keeper. They kissed and loved on each other for a while, I think it was good for both of them ::

:: Upon arriving at the rose ceremony, Jason asked to pull Naomi aside to make sure her intentions with him and expectations were right and true. She said they were {humph} and so he ended up giving roses to these girls: Jillian, Melissa, Molly {go home!} & Naomi. So that left Stephanie, oh so Southern and gracious Stephanie. She was the epitome of grace and woman in that ceremony and Jason was the essence of integral man ::

:: He kept all the girls there while he {tearfully} spoke to Stephanie and told her how wonderful she was and she deserved the very best and that she was an AMAZING woman. I agree with him, but she's just not right for him ::

:: So there you go, next week is a big one - it's the hometown dates & those episodes hold many many great surprises! Like Mom & Dad's that won't be on camera, Mom's who ask Jason to do the eulogy for a dead dove etc. ect. It'll be a great one girls! ::

Oh boy! We have been waiting for this! HAHA :-)

I thought this week was a filler too. I like that he got to take the girls home to Seattle and I totally agree with you about it being perfect time of year to visit.

I'm still loving Jillian. I think she is totally down to earth and fun. She has been very supportive to the other girls and that shows character.

I don't know why Naomi is still around, I thought for sure she wasn't going to be there after last night but Jason proved me wrong. I just don't see a spark between them.

I was sad to see Stephanie go but there just wasn't that deep passion there with them. She's a beautiful person and a very loving mother.

Well, that's my two cents. I'm looking forward to the drama of next week!!!! I can't believe Naomi's mom!!!!! And I think Jillian's gramma is too cute! HAHA

Thanks for keeping us all connected Shawna! Enjoy your week.

Yes, seems to be true..it was a filler, but STILL good!
Jillian is still my fave....she is so down to earth, and a natural beauty. And also mature enough for him....
Can't wait till next week!!

Oh dear I was waiting and lurking for this post! Do I have a life? It would be hard to believe that I do! haha!
I agree that it was hard to see Stephanie leave but she wan't right for him. She was so gracious and you can tell she is a strong woman with a huge heart. She'll meet Mr. Right.

Naomi and Molly both need to go. I think he really likes Molly but I am starting to not really so much!

My faves are still Gillian and Melissa.

Can't wait till next Monday! (And your Tuesday recap!)

I think Jason sending 3 home last week instead of 2 made this week a little slow, plus HARD to send only ONE poor woman home!! I felt badly about that, for one to be singled out in that way at this stage of the game. I LOVE what he did last week, definitely a wise move, but made it tough this week.

Going into the week I thought Steph would go – even though I think she’s an incredible person, they just didn’t have the spark. I had some flickers of hope throughout the episode but wasn’t too surprised at his decision. I admire her even more after the way she handled leaving, and thought he did the right thing by honouring her in front of everyone.

I thought maybe he’d pull the same move this week and not give the final rose away but no such luck. You can tell by the way he kisses Naomi that he’s not that into her... she kisses him, whereas he initiates with the other 3.

Jillian is just so grounded, has a beautiful depth and shows great character. Might not make her always stand out the most on each show, but would be wonderful for him once all the craziness of being on TV is over.

Melissa is sweet, I like her – really fun and was able to bounce back from disappointment. And it paid off! But yeah, her stretchy pants don’t look like mine!! Or maybe it’s just that my butt doesn’t hang out mine... but either way, the girl is gorgeous. And I think Jason agrees! ;)

Molly... can’t say anything bad, I think she’s beautiful and fun. I think Jason finds her quite captivating... plus he likes kissing her!
Shawna, can you remind us again why you don’t like her so much?

I agree..not the most exciting episode..but so neat to see parts of seattle. I think my favorite was the shot of the house from Sleepless in Seattle. I think its time I make a trek down there to go on a boat cruise;)hehe

I don't know why but I could see him and Molly together. Jillian is fantastic, but I don't know if she and Jason are a right fit? I think he is most attracted to Melissa though. It just bothers me when they go off about how they are SO ready to be moms..yada yada...when really, they have no idea what they are getting themselves into.Having your own baby is one thing, but becoming an instant mom to a little guy, that's a big responsiblity!
I think that's what I like about Jillian is she doesn't try and be someone she isn't!
I was so glad last night that he didn't get Ty to meet the ladies, I think that was very responsible of him!
Next week should be fantastic, and drama filled!! Can't wait.

Oh and Amanda-we do have lives...we just all have our priorities a little confused right now:)hehe

HA HA..I love your bachelor recaps Shawna!! So great!
It was a bit slow, but still good. I like Molly, don't see too much of a problem with her, I think Jason likes her. I too, would be curious as to why you don't like her so much, S!
I think Melissa is going to take the ring in the end...don't know why, but that's what I've though from the beginning. I like her...she is beautiful, sweet, fun!
I am glad Stephanie went home, I just don't think they were right for each other.
I am ready for next week! Bring on the families!

Great thoughts ladies!

Well as far as Molly goes {Kristin} I'm just not all about her being so "easy" with Jason. Of course she's the best kisser, hello kissing in a tent all night long, he better say that!

I think she's beautiful, lovely, sweet, and all around a nice girl, I just don't think the easy one should win in the end and I don't really think that there is much of a spark {other than a physical} between them. That's just my personal thought :)

Ok - so I usually watch this alone - but last night I watched it with a GF of mine and it was SO fun to critique during the episode. Ok - so Jillian. She's the winner ... she's sooo - Northwest? Is that what I'm looking for? Yah, I think that's it. In 2nd place I have Molly. She seems pretty level headed ... I liked when she said that she wasn't any different with her family ... Next? Melissa ... but I just get a "young" feeling from her. Niaomi? Poor girl. She's lovely and all ... too young and seems to have a few life challenges to deal with.

SOOOO - WHEN's Deanna showing up??? For the final rose ceremony??? She should be hung by her toes ...

Shawna said...

no no no Tawn, Deanna should be hung by her toe nails...the toes wouldn't hurt enough ;)

And as for the finale party, I don't know when the finale is {they have yet to release the date} and where...depends on how many girls we have coming....but don't worry y'all will be invited!

Shawna...You are awesome! I actually laughed out loud while I was reading your reasons for disliking Molly! You are definately a "tell it like it is" kinda a girl, and I adore you for it:)
Anyways, my favourite part of the show was getting to know Jillian better. I hadn't really seen her personality until the camera focused in on her a bit more, I can now see why you are going with her. I am totally looking forward to next week, it should be interesting to say the least!!! Question though? Did the show hire the crazy family that Naomi is supposed to call her own, or could they really be that nuts!!! I suppose we shall see:)
