:: Family Photo's ::

:: We were supposed to go to Crescent Beach to have some family photo's taken by a friend, but due to to unforeseen circumstances they were unable to make it. But that didn't stop us - We borrowed Jordan's super-duper camera (thanks Jord) and headed down to the beach to capture us three before we expand into four! ::

:: Thanks to Mom Mac for being our Photographer and to Dad Mac for being our entertainer for Jacob - The photo's turned out great and thankfully the weather turned out as well! ::
:: Here are some of our photo's from the beach ::

:: Please vote on your favorite family picture - I can't decide! ::

:: FYI - I'm 21 weeks pregnant tomorrow ::

:: Our newest toy ::

:: Okay -- Not OUR but HIS newest toy ::
:: Tonight we headed down to Bellingham to pick up a early Father's Day gift for Paul - This is what we got ::

:: Yes, he is spoiled...however we do need a lawn mower and I had put away too much money in our property tax account and it was just enough to cover the new mower (Praise the Lord!). We got a stellar deal on it through KMART - yeah, go figure they sell Craftsman (usually only sold by Sears), but their prices on Craftsman stuff were amazing in comparison to SEARS, weird huh!!??? But I'm not complaining! And to top it all off, we didn't even have to pay duty at the border - Praise the Lord (again)! ::

:: So here he is with his new toy ::

:: Happy Father's Day Babe ::

:: Our Walk ::

:: Yesterday once Paul got home we headed to our local park (about 2 blocks from our house) - It's just a perfect little park for toddlers...and of course we had to bring his "kaaa" (aka: car). He loves riding it and pushing it himself but he's not very good at steering it :) ::

:: Opinions Please ::

:: Okay, I am in need of your opinion. I am in my SIL's wedding on September 8th and I will be a full eight months pregnant (such a beautiful sight, I know!). And I cannot get the dress the other BM's are wearing altered, it is just going to cost too much moola. So here are my options ::

:: This one is a two piece with a full length skirt - I will have to cut the skirt down to tea length to match the other girls and I would add spaghetti straps to ensure my bust stays perky and to also match the other girls dress'. This outfit would cost $170.00 prior to alterations. I prefer this one because it is a two piece and I'm afraid that if I wore a one piece dress I would look like a puffy sausage! :::: Second choice is made of the same material as the others dresses and I would have to also have it hemmed, however this one is only $120.00 ::

:: Any thoughts, opinions, experience would be much appreciated ::

:: It's now a home ::

:: I don't know about you but there is just something about baking (for leisure) in a new home...I really don't think my house is a home until I have baked in it. Who knows where this comes from - but I assume it comes from my Mom always having baked goods around the house, it just makes it feel like a home! ::

:: So on Sunday while the boys were napping I decided to take on Martha Stewart's "Lady Baltimore Cake" ~ This is how it turned out...it took almost a whole dozen egg whites but It was/is truly delish (I would not recommend this for any time-crunched Mama's - total time spent on cake 2.5 hours) :: :: Paul was truly excited about trying it - the filling has pecans and raisins, it's not overly sweet but not savory either - Just perfect! ::

:: Baby Scare ::

:: Today was a bit unsettling for me (us); I had been having cramps last night in my abdomen and today while I was going about my day they came back and continued to get worse as the day progressed. Another thing that worried me is that I hadn’t felt the baby move all day. With all that has been going on in our lives I have truly been ignoring my pregnancy, I guess I am now feeling a little guilty as I poured so much into my pregnancy with Jacob. So when I didn’t feel the baby move, my worry along with the cramps increased. By 4:30 pm I called Paul and told him that I think I should go get checked out at the maternity ward at SMH. So we called our friends Matt & Lisa and they came out to take care of Jacob while we went to the hospital. We also called Mom & Dad to let them know what was happening as they were out with their friends Steve & Marilyn. ::

:: We were admitted to the maternity ward and they checked my vitals then checked on the baby via Doppler and everything checked out to be fine. The little one’s heart beat was 155 and mine was just perfect. I just have to say that I love the Doctors and Nurses at SMH – they didn’t discount any of the feelings/fears I was having but reassured me that no other signs other than my abdominal pain were pointing towards a miscarriage. I don’t think and nor did I think that I was having a miscarriage but maybe pre-term labour. So with that they gave me a couple Ibuprofen as they believe I may have a virus or flu bug. As I was heading out of the triage ward they said well hopefully we won’t see you until it’s really time and I couldn’t agree with them more! ::

:: So if you are reading this I ask that you pray for our wee little one and that everything is a-okay and that God (as we trust) has him/her in His palm and is forming him/her in His image. We thank you in advance for your prayers, they are coveted. ::

:: FYI: My cramps have considerably decreased and I have felt the baby move since we left the hospital ::

:: Here is a picture of what our baby looks like now (this is not really our baby) ::

:: Jacob's 1st Birthday ::

:: Our "little boy" is now a whole year old! Where does the time go???? Here he is on his actual birthday - June 1st :::: We celebrated his birthday with family & friends on June 3 @ our new place - it was a great excuse to get our place "done" in time for the 60 people we expected to see! ::
:: Here is the birthday boy (picture c/o Uncle Jordan) ::
:: Happy Ducky 1st Birthday! :::: Party goers enjoying a cold drink on a hot day :::: Aunty Dianne & G. G. :::: Our lower patio with Jacob's extended family - Jacob is clinging to Grampy's arm as he did most of the day :::: Uncle Trevor & Aunty Christy (not in this picture) came over from Duncan for the party - It was great to see you guys! :::: Once the party came to an end we had just our immediate family stay for a BBQ - this is when we let Jacob go at his cake :: :: I don't think he knew what to do with it when we put the supersized rubber duck in front of him :::: He did not want to destroy it, but Daddy and Uncle Jordan and the Grandpa's didn't seem to have a problem! :::: Once he was ready for bed we plunked him in the middle of his gifts...from the look on his face you can tell that he didn't know what to do with himself and all the gifts - we were all overwhelmed! :::: One last shot of our very little, yet very big and grown up boy! :::: Happy Birthday Jacob - we adore you and love what you have brought to our lives, you are truly our gift from the Lord ::

:: It's been a while ::

Hello All,

I am back in the land of the living - well somewhat!?!?!?

We have pretty much settled into our new place and have completed the renovations that we wanted to do and some that we didn't want to do!

I will be posting some pictures of our new place and hopefully some before pictures as well - I also need to post pictures of Jacob's 1st Birthday, I'll do his birthday first!

Thanks for hanging in while I was away for so long!
